How did you spend summers when you were a kid?

I was an only child so I had to entertain myself a lot. I played, caught minnows in the ditch in front of our house, played in the woods. Most summers Mom and I would go to Grandma's for what I affectionately refer to as my summer of slavery. Grandma had a garden and we were pressed into service to pick and shell peas, butterbeans and harvest whatever there was out there. I played with my cousin more than anything.

I am a procrastinator. There, it's out. Not like anyone who knows me would think that, but I am. At work I keep an eye on the worklist, trying to keep things moving, but with one goal in mind: to achieve inertia. To be able to relax and be a procrastinator, share conversation with my friends at work, just not have anything pressing to do at that moment.

Well, I need to stop. Or maybe I should say; I need to get started. Maybe not the situation at work, but my laziness in the rest of my life. I need to get motivated and get off my fat ass and exercise; I need to double up on my classes (one class at a time isn't going to get me done any faster) I need to fold the laundry! (Well maybe the laundry can wait.) But I really need to get myself more motivated. I'm only going to get older, and that doesn't make fitness any easier. If exercise wasn't so damned boring... I'd much rather read, work on my quilting, watch tv... everything I enjoy is mostly sedentary.

Oh well, time to eat! (I'll start tomorrow...)
