1. A dog's head is pretty heavy when he's in your "lap". He's 65 lbs and on the ottoman between my knees on the blanket. Very nice on a cold evening. His head is draped over my ankle. It makes tapping your foot along with the music on TV more of a challenge.

2. Sometimes, you have to follow the recipe. I made a lemon cake this past weekend and failed on a couple of counts. First and foremost, I forgot to spray the cake pan with baking spray so the cake refused to come out of it after baking, which resulted in the second failure. The recipe also called for a sugar/lemon juice glaze, poured on while the cake was still hot, and then the whole shebang was supposed to sit for a few hours or overnight. This undoubtedly would result in a much moister cake than what I got. It tasted fine, but was a bit dry and crumbly. I'll try once more to do it correctly. We shall see.

3. TV pretty much sucks. There are few shows I watch. There are others I'm sure I would enjoy, but missing them for the first few seasons while I was in school sort of sours me on jumping in on the middle of things. So I'm reduced to viewing Amreica's Funniest Videos. Again. Ugh...

4. I'm going to be editing my iTunes library for a looonnnggg time. I keep acquiring music and some entries are not up to standard. I've made it into the B's so far. Only about 13,000 more entries to go over before I'm done.

5. This is not getting my writing done. Or my decision as to which story I should concentrate on and finish. With my attention divided between four or five different stories, it makes progress in any of them difficult at best. Progress is being made, but not much. If nothing else, writing in one story only will make the characters from the other works talk to me like nobody's business.

6. Why do people think puking babies is funny? A montage of infants regurgitating in every way possible induces a similar reaction in me. Sure, if it were my own kid, I'd probably deal with it just fine. But I don't, so I don't have to. The trials of a sympathetic vomiter are never done.

7. I've run out of ideas. What else is new?

PS: seekrit message to [livejournal.com profile] purplepanda35 : I hope you are able to go on vacation tomorrow, what with the blizzard in North Dakota all day, and that you have fun with your family. I'm glad you enjoy the cold weather because you're gonna get some! Be safe and hurry back! {{{Hugs}}}
