That is gorgeous. How the hell did you manage to snap that photo. They never stop when I want to take a picture. They're too busy here looking for water. I'm going to get my pond going, in the hope I might attract one or two. The south eastern part of the state, apparently is a mecca for dragonflies.
There are hordes of them here too. They get called mosquito hawks here a lot, and those we have plenty of as well. He/she was perched on the end of an old tomato stake in the front yard and I just put the little camera on macro and shot what I could. The bug sat let and actually let me touch it with the camera. It flew away a few times but kept coming right back. Very cool.
