Now that I've taken the trash out of my manuscript (deleted unneeded words like 'just', 'so', 'for a moment', and the like) I've gone from writing like Nabokov to this:

And when I post the entire body of the manuscript, I get this.

He spins quite a yarn, even if I don't think his writing is all that. But he *is* published and if I could ride his coattails into success, I would.

I have to get back to you about "Old Dogs". I have time this week to read and finish, so hopefully, I'll get it back to you soon.

I have Unmarked Paths open and Under the Milky Way open and am contemplating on boring reading to David.

I've edited it yet again, but haven't changed anything really structural, just took out words that aren't neccessary (just, so, rather, very, in spite of, for a moment) I'm contemplating printing it, and not touching it for a month, trying to not even think about it, which means I'll have to write on something else to keep me from meddling.

Okay, I've hit 'print'. No turning back now...

Cool. I have done that. My mom read my stories from those printouts. I need to go back and put them in order and maybe edit on them. I am really struggling to get back to writing. I'm going to try to do some tonight. I'm not sleeping, so I'm going to send David to bed and try to write or rewrite till it's time for me to sleep.

Sometimes, time spent with old friends (characters) is the best way to wind down and relax. Sounds like an excellent plan. After today's day at work, I have a glass of mead, whether it makes me flush or not, and relaxing with another set of charcters. Maybe Molly and Gil...

I would love it. I'm lettig it lie for a month (if I can stand it that long) then I'll re-read and tweak and maybe start the query process.
